Currently, the New York Urban Landscape inspires my work. My passion for depicting it is not merely about documenting my surroundings, but recreating the emotional experience of being truly connected to my environment. To elicit these emotions, my paintings incorporate both realistic and the abstract elements.
I was born and raised on the North Shore of Long Island. In 2004, I received my BFA from The School of Visual Arts in New York City, and also studied painting in Paris, France and Florence, Italy. After graduation, I returned to Italy for one year, where I adopted Renaissance Painting techniques into my work. Afflicted with wanderlust, during this time I created a body of work documenting my travels abroad in cities such as Venice, Rome, Brussels, and Amsterdam.
Currently, with this body of work, I have received awards for Outstanding Work from the Salmagundi Club, admittance into the New York Foundation For the Arts, M.A.R.K. Program, and won the, "Dialogue of Art" contest where my painting "Street Corner, Coney Island" can be seen, in a year long exhibition at WNYC's, Jerome L. Green Space.
In addition,I'm pleased to announce that this fall I will beginning a Masters program at The New York Academy of Art.
